All right...I have a bit of problem here... I think that pretty much so since my freshman year in high school I've come across quite a handful of ignorant people about track and field. I'm a runner and a jumper (high jump, long jump and triple jump). I REALLY hate it when those people tell me that track and field isn't a sport. So, what do the REST of you think? And if you believe it's not a sport, please, elaborate.

I fully agree with your view. You are right.

Only one thing more, that if it is not a sport, then how come they figure in Olympics, Common wealth Games etc.?

Even then some few do not view it as a sport. They see running as running. They question "How could just running be a sport? What's the point? There's no technique or anything!" Which shows how ignorant they are (and lazy).

If it involves some sort of physical activity and you can make a competition out of it, then its a sport.
