"Burning Inside"
Written by: Blk Sapphire
She was young, reckless, and wanted to grow up fast. She was intelligent, pretty, and still wanted to grow up fast. She knew how to seduce a man twice her age, and regretted later the knowledge she had acquired upon such seductions...
Ariana was only eleven years old when she decided that she wanted to learn how to play the piano. For being eleven, she was already above five feet tall, had a lovely little chest and was slender making her appear five years older than what she actually was. She bugged her parents to get her a piano teacher since they bought a baby grand a year prior for the household just for the sake of having it, and they finally caved in. They looked for a private tutor through the yellow pages, and one name caught little Ariana's eye --- Valentine, Xavier. She loved the sound of it, and from his reputation, it was apparent that he was worth the call and he wasn't going for a bad price either. So, her parents chose him for their baby girl. It was the best and yet worse decision for them to ever make...
When Ariana's first lesson came, she simply wore jeans and a nice fitting band t-shirt with her short black hair being clipped to one side. When the doorbell rang, her father answered it and when he emerged from the doorway, a tall young man, taller than her six foot father, stood talking beside him. At that moment, her heartbeat nearly stopped and her dark brown eyes widened. She had never seen a much more strikingly handsome man in her entire life. The man, her tutor, was well-tanned, had thick ebony hair in which was a little on the long side, and the softest emerald eyes she had ever gazed upon. She fell in love with him on first sight and when he looked at her with a perfect smile, she knew she wanted him and badly.
Mr. Valentine strode over to the piano bench where Ariana sat, and he introduced himself to her. She could barely stop herself from trembling when his large hand engulfed hers. His hand, though large, had slender fingers like a pianist usually had and was soft as if he had never done tough labor in his life. Yet, even though he was wearing a black turtle neck and slacks she could tell he had worked out at least on a daily basis. He had prominent cheek bones, and a gentle jawline which made him look ever more the handsome to her and he smelled of a faint cologne which she had to get close to him to feel it truly embrace her senses. That entire day went without a hitch since she was so attentive upon his every instruction. At the end of the two hour lesson, she asked him a few questions like where he was from since he had an accent and how old he was, if he had a siblings, and the whole lot. He told his student with a smile that he was born in Brazil, he was twenty-four, he had a younger brother, and everything else she asked of him. She was fascinated and wondered if he was the least bit interested in a girl who was thirteen years younger than him. Ariana knew she would find a way to win his heart... and she did.
As the months went on, Ariana learned quickly how to play the piano and she even was invited along with her family to watch Xavier play with his university's orchestra. She was mesmerized by the older man, and she began to realize that he was just as deeply infatuated even though he knew it meant trouble. She sometimes sang while he played the piano after their lessons were over and they even composed a song together. Her parents saw nothing wrong with their growing bond, and Ariana was thankful for it --- in particular when Xavier was asked to babysit one evening while her parents went out.
"Xavier, how come you don't have a girlfriend?" Ariana asked him while they were sitting at the dinner table, enjoying dessert after a lovely dinner that Xavier had made. At this question, the older man looked up from the plate they shared, and smiled awkwardly before replying with, "I don't know. I just haven't found the right girl, yet..." "What kind of girls do you like?" Ariana pressed him with this question. Xavier then put down his fork, sighing as he closed his eyes as if to think while he spoke. "Tall, but not above six feet, with dark hair and dark eyes... Intelligent... I love a woman who has a heart for music like no other, especially." As he said this, his emerald eyes opened to look at an embarassed Ariana. She then eyed him back with a mischievous smile, and got up from her chair to place herself forwardly onto his lap. Xavier's toned arms slipped around her lithe waist and he whispered quietly as if someone else was in the house. "Ariana, I could be sent to jail if anyone finds out..." Ariana didn't want to hear it as she said almost sharply. "No one will. This is between you and me... I love you, and that's all you need to know, Mr. Valentine..." and at that, they shared a most forbidden kiss.
More months passed by, and it was December. Ariana's parents threw a Christmas party, and of course Xavier was invited but he couldn't come because he had come down with the flu. She hoped he would be better by New Year's Eve at least since what she had wanted most was to kiss him exactly on midnight. Their relationship was highly forbidden, and they both knew the consequences if someone found out, but they were utterly careful and they truly cared for one another. It wasn't until the following month that she wished she was older...
Two weeks after Ariana's tweleveth birthday, she got a phonecall from Xavier's younger brother late in the night. She hardly spoke to him and found it strange that he was calling. She answered it, speaking into the receiver, "Hello? Hi Vincent. How are you? ...Is everything okay? You sound horrible." She spoke with him for a little while longer, listening to what he had to say then laughed nervously. "Yeah right, stop messing around with me. I saw Xavier just two days ago... there's no way he's in the hospital..." Her tone suddenly turned grave. "He is?...But... I'll be right there!" She hung up, and ran to her parents' bedroom, screaming to let them take her to the hospital. They awoke with a start, asking what was wrong, and she told them that Xavier had gotten into a car accident while out with friends and that he was in the hospital in critical condition. Her parents immediately got into some decent clothes, and took their daughter to see her beloved piano teacher.
Arriving at the hospital, everything was a blur. Ariana saw Xavier in a hospital bed with several machines surrounding him, and he looked horrible. His beautiful face that she once adorned with sweet kisses in the darkness of her room was scarred up and had bandages on it. His toned body looked wispy underneath the white hospital sheets. His richly tanned skin appeared deathly pale. She didn't know what to say or do. She just watched as everyone around her suddenly went into a frenzy around him and all she heard was "We're losing him! WE'RE LOSING HIM!" Then suddenly, she saw or heard nothing...
The following weeks were the most painful for her in her entire life. Xavier Valentine, her one and only love, was gone forever. She had to endure going to his funeral, and she cried like no other. She read aloud a poem she wrote for him, then placed it with him in his casket along with a white rose which he loved, and watched as his body was buried six feet under. Her heart was so fragile that anyone who came near her to comfort her made it ache. She felt all alone and felt as if no one understood her. She felt so robbed of her purity, and yet just so robbed in general of his love for her. At times she wish she just didn't meet him, or sleep with him, or even grown so close to him, but it was impossible. He had been her beautiful angel on the earthly plains and now he was her heavenly angel, but she didn't want any of that. She wanted him with her, physically there again to tell her it was all a bad joke...
Ariana wanted to grow up fast, and she regretted it.
