The Catcher In The Rye is very good.

Hmm, you should.
The Catcher In The Rye is very good.
I disagree; it's overly liberal and really quite dull. The ideas it tries to bring about concerning human nature are jaded and very dated.

Anyway, I'm currently reading Machiavelli's The Prince.

Goodbye.
28-03-2007, 05:06 PM
Hm, I don't think so.

But The Prince is also a very good book.

'Cell' by Stephen King, it's not that good not by far if you compare it to books like 'It'

'It' ****ing scared me. I read it when I was like, 8. ****.
I just read 'Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf?'. It was pretty solid, I don't particularly agree with the concepts, but it was definately an interesting read.

I didn't answer my phone for about 2 days after i started reading it, but then again, when I read 'It' I kept away from sewers for at least a month

The part in IT that disturbed me was that crazy kid who shoved animals into an abandoned refrigerator and there was a part which described when he put a puppy in there....wow yeah that stayed with me for awhile after I read that part.

Cell, to me, wasn't a bad book. I think it was alot better then his newest book that I just read Lisey's Story.

I work 10:00pm to 8:00am stocking in a grocery store. I pretty much spend all night putting things on shelves & making it look pretty for the customers the next morning. The store has a book/magazine section, so if I feel like taking break I'll read. I usually don't get off at 8:00, I end up working late & after that I'll sometimes go help a friend who does yardwork for people. I don't get too much sleep.

sYn
12-04-2007, 01:42 PM
Whoa, yeah I wouldn't get alot of sleep if I did all that either. They must have a pretty good book/magazine section where you work if they are selling Brother Odd, the stores around where I live usually sell romance novels and books by authors you have never heard of, haha.

I get almost no sleep haha, when I come home I have people yelling & being loud all day long. They have a half aisle of magazines, & an endcap of the top 20 best sellers. I think Brother Odd is number 12 on the endcap now.

I'm pretty much stuck with it. I share a place with my sister & cousin, neither of them knows how to act in public, let alone when left to their own devices haha. We've been so busy with the reset that I have been skipping break to work, so I still haven't gotten past page 200 or so haha.

I do, not that it does much good, the walls are paper thin & they're extremely loud haha. I just cut on some music, but even that doesn't drown out their big mouthes haha. It's only 400 or 500 pages, so even only reading at the pace im reading now I'll have it done sometime soon. How long is A.B.C Murders? Lucky! Haha, I live with my parents but I have two Jack Russel Terriers and talk about LOUD! Ugh, haha yeah I just pop on my headphone to my XM radio if things with the dogs get alittle to noisy but even THAT can't drown them out sometimes. I think A.B.C. Glad that you have decent parents, your father is probably a nice guy haha. Oooh, I hate being bitten, they have tiny, pointy, painful, needle like teeth that always seem to find the ankle haha. You're a NASCAR fan? Favorite driver? Sounds good to me, I'm hoping to work my way up a bit, the store I work in has serious advancement, our manager started out as a bagger, & our assistant manager started as a night stocker, as long as you show that you're willing to do the work then theyll give you a better position, I want a better position hahahah. Haha, I think when she nips it isn't to painful, she mostly gets the pant leg. Yup, I am, are you? My favorite driver is Dale Earnhardt Jr. Haha, maybe someday you'll get a better position if you stay there a long time. Yeah, he's from the old school where you use to have to write everything out. Hahahaha, she does it just for attention? I used to watch Dale Earnhardt race, but after he died I quit following it so closely, I still see how Dale Jr. is doing from time to time, but I'm not super into it like I was haha. I'd like to be the manager, or at least be in charge of stocking, the current guy in charge of stocking makes around $50,000 a year, which is pretty good pay. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink, right?

Lmao, I guess you could say that. That was the first race I actually watched, the Daytona 500 when Dale Sr. died then I watched it on and off and then I became an avid fan in like 2004. $50,000 a year for being in charge of stocking?! Wow, that's great pay! I would definently stick with the job you have and see if you can climb the ranks because you could make great pay. Haha, right.

I will then, haha. I've always loved cars & racing, I think I started when I was a kid, but that was the last race I watched I think, It's sort of odd, I cant see a NASCAR track without thinking of Dale Sr. lol. Yes, thats definitely the kind of job I'd like in the future, starting pay for night stockers is $7.50 an hour, & it only goes up the longer you stay there & the better position you have. I believe the store manager makes between $60,000 & 70,000 with a 10,000 bonus every year, thats just rumor though lol.

Definitely still fun to watch hahahaha. Sure, we're always needing new stockers haha. I've never really paid attention to what store managers made before I started working here. They may get paid more over here or something though. I suppose the size of the store also has something to do with it.

It's not hard, the hardest thing is memorizing where things go, but after a week or so it's easy to look at something & know generally where it goes. I work at Ingles, it's a pretty good size store, not as big as Wal Mart, but it's not as small as the typical IGA either. I've never heard of REoche Bros or Shaws, are they grocery stores?

It would probably take me more then a week to remember where everything went, lol. I have never heard of Ingles but yes Roche Bros. and Shaws are both grocery stores. Shaws is bigger then Roche. Bros. as in there are alot more of them same with Stop & Shop. The only thing in my town is Roche. Bros and it sucks because they are more expensive then Shaws and Stop & Shop plus they just revamped their store and now you can't find anything.

Nah, it isn't hard, when you look for the same things every night you tend to remember what goes where pretty quickly lol. I hate being stuck going to one store instead of a better one just because it's more convenient. Aargh, I hate resets, it's just as bad for the stockers as the customers lol, when we did our reset, you couldn't find anything lol.

Yeah, the closest store besides Roche Bros. is Trucchi's but that's in the next town over and who wants to go to a next town over to shop?! Haha, probably be cheaper but then the lazy factor comes in. Agh! No kidding and the thing that is worse is that Roche Bros. redecorated to look EXACTLY like Shaw's in the inside. The customer service desk is in the same place, the produce, bakey, aisles, etc. They only have a limit space because it's in a plaza but still! Now I never go in there because I can't find anything, it's terrible.

Lol, I go 20 minutes down the road to shop haha. I only have to go every month or two for groceries though, so it isn't too bad. I have to go oh like 5 miles, haha. I guess would take me like 20 minutes if it was a heavy traffic day because I live near a state college. Same here! Wow, here it's 20 minutes of 70 MPH on the interstate, I'd be pissed if it took me 20 minutes to go 5 miles haha. I don't really live near anything, the only colleges around here are technical schools, the bigger ones are in Columbia & Clemson, I think those are the only big colleges we have. Haha, only on rare occasions does it take that long. Especially on a Sunday that only happens if there is graduation or they are doing that stupid PCC program which high school kids can sign up for and for 2 weeks during the summer they stay at the college and do classes and they have dances like they really went there. But it's big bucks plus you have to have a certain grade average to even apply for it. Did Wal-Mart sue K-Mart? I don't remember that but I think if it was Wal-Mart that everyone was copying then they would definently sue. I guess Shaw's doesn't care.

I'd start throwing things at people who held me up that long haha. You should, it would be pretty funny haha. I throw things at work all the time, theres this one lazy guy who does nothing all night, I have caught him sitting in the middle of his aisle playing a game boy, anyway, any time I see him screwing off, I throw somewthing at him. I throw things at him when he gets on my nerves too, so sometimes he'll be seen running from a barrage of ramen or soup cans, whatever I'm nearest haha. I've never danced except for the last day of 7th grade I think, I tried to tango with some girl haha, I kept stepping on her feet. Vodka makes even the worst memories seem decent haha! I'm going to a wedding this week...I hope I don't have to dance...

Lmao, with the people I work with I should start throwing things at them. Not that they slack off it's just that they irritate me sometimes...especially my dad! Even when I went to school dances I never danced. Looking back I never understood why I went to those things, who would want to go back to school for 3 hours at night?! Tango? Haha, you got me there I don't know how to do that! Agh, tell me about it. Not sure if I had 18 but I lost count after 6 plus I had three shots sooo yeah the next day hurt. I say to get out of dancing just...hide. haha

You really should, you'd be surprised how dilligently people will work when youre around & they aren't sure when you'll start throwing things haha. It's even better if people instantly stop being annoying when they see you looking at them haha. I never went to a school dance, I never liked dancing & like you said, I didn't want to go to school for another 3-4 hours & stand around staring awkwardly at the opposite sex across the room lol. I can tango, just not well, I've only seen people do it on TV haha. Last time I got to drinking I nearly burnt down my friends house when I decided it would be a good idea to cook rice in vodka haha. Ill hide under a table to get out of it haha!

Oh the evil eye! I always give people the evil eye or "the look" especially with my dad when he starts becoming annoying. Like what he's doing right now! I never danced at a school dance, the dances at my school was just an excuse for people to hang out with their friends...or make out with their boyfriend/girlfriend, haha. Only time I ever saw people tango was on Dancing With the Stars. Lmao, vodka and rice?! I haven't gone that far! haha

Hahahaha, I know that look well, it seems all women can do it... Do they take you aside during school for special "Evil Eye" classes or something lol? What's he doing? I never even went to a school dance hahahaha. I've never watched that show, but I saw a tango in some movie I watched.... I'm thinking it was "True Lies" but I'm not entirely sure... Yes lol, I couldnt find any water & I was afraid of the sink for some reason I can't quite recall, & I had to have rice lol, so I cooked it in vodka haha. It somehow caught fire & we stood there staring at it for a while before my buddy just threw it out the door.

Lmao, no I learned that look from my mom. My dad? He's nagging me, he's like an old woman sometimes! I don't think I have seen "True Lies" but Dancing With the Stars, I've watched it from the first season and it's sort of interesting seeing all the different dances. Oh okay, lol well luckily you threw it out the door and it didn't burn down the kitchen or anything.

Aha! I knew it! A conspiracy! "True Lies" was an action movie I think... I saw a few episodes of Dancing With The Stars, now that I think about it, I don't remember the specifics or anything, but I do remember a few of the people...sort of. I do remember that every dance was different, that there was no set pattern, they could all listen to the same song, be doing the same dance, & they would still be doing different moves, I'm not sure if thats the point or not though lol. Nah, the wallpaper was a bit scorched & the stove was dirty lol, but that was about it.

Haha, wasn't Jamie Lee Curtis in True Lies? I went to the Dancing With the Stars tour when it came to the Dunkin Donuts Center in Rhode Island, it was actually fun. I was disappointed with this season but last season was the best because Jerry Springer was on it! I wish he went on the tour. With Dancing With the Stars they do that but that's usually if there is a group dance. With individual couple dances they each do a different dance and dance to a different song. lol, I hope his parents were upset with the scorched wallpaper.

Yes, that's the one, with Arnold too lol. I'd say his last name, but I cant spell it & I'm too lazy to look it up lol. What happened on the tour, did they dance & stuff? Hahahaha, Jerry Springer was on it? Was he any good? Oh, ok, I probably just didnt watch close enough lol, in real life are there so many variations of each dance? We told his mother that it was his fathers doing, & he couldnt contradict us because he was passed out on the living room floor & couldn't remember getting up that morning hahahaha.

Ah yes, I think it's Swarzeneggar or something like that, lol. Yeah they danced, talked to the audience but it was good because they had good celebrity dancers on it like Joey McIntyre, Joey Lawrence and Drew Lachey. He was on last season and he wasn't that great but he made it pretty far into the competition. I guess there are like there is ballroom dancing (which has like the waltz...uh and that's all I can think of!) and latin dances like the tango, pace doble (sp?), etc. Lmao! Hahahaha, that is funny!

Yeah, it's something like that, I wasn't even going to make an attempt on it lol. Wow, sounds pretty cool, definitely an interesting thing to try. I have never heard of any of those three guys haha, are they professional dancers, or just actors? I think there are more than 6 classical ballroom dances (I had a friend who went to finishing school & while there thats how many she learned, I never asked what they were called or anything though) The only latin dance I know of is the salsa...& I'm not so sure that that is actually a dance, I'm thinking it might just be the sort of music they dance to... Yeah lol, that was pretty funny, she got mad at him & pretty much left us alone lol.

Haha, no they are celebrites. Joey Lawrence was on the show Blossom, Joey McIntyre was in the boyband New Kids On the Block and Drew Lachey was in the band 98 Degrees, his brother is Nick Lachey you know the one that was married to Jessica Simpson. It's kind of sad that I know all of that, lol. There probably are that many but I couldn't name them all. I think salsa is a dance...but I'm not 100% sure.

Ahh, gee thanks! Haha, NO I do NOT love any of those 3 bands I just mentioned. Oh yes the infamous Newlywed episode. That actually made her more popular and more well known with that statement. Pshh as if ;) You know they're desperate for news if they play snippets from crappy daytime shows about two people who just got married. That show was so fake, being a newlywed isn't like that, if they made a show off of the first time I was married they'd have called it "B*tch, You Tricked Me" (I've never been married, that's just a funny line XD) Well, genius or idiot, it's working for her. One would have to be really smart to be able to pretend to be so dumb, or just plain stupid, who could say, I suppose the debate on her IQ level just gives her more press time. Haha, I remember in school how much this one kids parents bragged on how smart he was, but he was really as dumb as a stump, or 'dumber 'n a bag 'o hammers' as the teacher liked to put it lol.

Hahaha, yeah I mean they hardly ever fought and if they did get into an argument they would get over it by going up the stairs for make up sex. Sure that might happen in a marriage but every freaking episode it would be like that! I think sometimes they would show how annoyed Nick really was with her. I was like "wow, he'll probably file for divorce!" Then the surprise is she wants out.

I guess you could say she is a genius for marketing herself this way. I mean when her career first started no one knew much about her but then she married Nick and played the dumb blonde role and now she's in the spotlight big time.

Aw, poor kid! I guess his parents were just trying to be nice, lol.

Haha, I know it is but that's why reality T.V. is unrealistic. I bet Nick was real embarassed by that divorce I mean SHE wanted it! I mean was life really THAT bad that she didn't want to be married to him anymore? Now look at her, she was linked to John Mayer, dyed her hair and got a boob job (she denies it but it's obvious) but now it's like that's all they talk about with her. She had a bigger career then he did, he was making more money then him per year. Then he came out with a new album and it sold big then he started getting recognized more. Then he got even bigger now that he is dating Vanessa Milano. I'm sure the show was probably a stepping stone for her to get popular. Haha, Vanessa Milano was (or maybe still is) a correspondent for ET that celebrity entertainment show that is on CBS. I don't know what else she has done but that's the only thing I know her for.

By the way if you are looking for another good Dean Koontz book to read a couple of books ago I read "Phantoms" and I thought it was pretty good. I saw the movie based on the book a long time ago but didn't make a connection that the movie was based on the book until I rewatched the movie a few weeks ago. I liked the movie when I first saw it but seeing it after reading the book it sucked.

Oooh, I liked that one, the one with the sentient glob of stuff that was killed in the end by the stuff used to dissolve the oil in the oil spills. I read the first half of The Good Guy, it's new I think, so far it's pretty good.

I saw Charmed a few times when it first started but I don't remember. Oh you mean Whose The Boss?

Yup, the movies called Phantoms and it came out in '98. It has Ben Affleck and Rose McGowan in it (she was in Charmed to but I think she's most known for dating Marilyn Manson). Haha, yeah with Stephen King you can't go wrong I can only recall one book of his that I couldn't finish and that was Insomnia, come to find out later reading something else that book he didn't like either and neither did the critics.

Wow, it's like everyone I talk to is so into the new Harry Potter book coming out. On the news it said that what happens in the book has already been leaked out online. I have never read the books or seen the movies. My best friend Julie just started watching the movies and she loves them. You need to read Harry Potter, the books are awesome, the movies are, while good, mediocre when compared to the books, it is hard to cram 700 pages into 2-3 hours of film after all.

Ill have to look it up. I don't think Iv'e ever read a bad Stephen King book...

Only Insomnia comes to mind, I think King hardly ever comes out with a bad book. Like critics didn't care for Cell but I liked the book, I could hardly put it down.

Let me guess Harry Potter doesn't die in the last book? My whole thing is I don't know if I would like the books, I don't even know what Harry Potter is about! Lol, something about kids that go to a witch school?

Critics seem to like most of his books, there are only a few of his books that the critics didnt seem to care too much for.

Yes, he does die, but he has the option to come back, so he does. Harry Potter is about a kid who on his 11th birthday finds out his parents were witches/wizards & they were killed by a powerful evil sorcerer when he was a year old. The book chronicles Harry going through school & all of the things that happen to him. It's a very good book, definitely one of my favorites.

Sounds like an interesting concept for a book series. So at the end Harry dies...but then comes back? Figures, I heard that J.K. Rowling said in an interview that she may consider doing another Harry Potter book in the future.

Yes, it's rather complicated to explain the why's of the situation whith someone who hasn't read any of the books, but there is a special cir***stance where when he dies he can come back & the students are protected by a very old magic released by his death, much like the one that his mother gave him when she died for him, it's complicated lol, I'd only confuse you by attempting to explain any farther lol. I do hope she writes another one, it's my favorite series lol, maybe write one about the kids or something lol.

Ok, good, I was worried I'd confuse you lol. She wrote 2 small books, one called 'A History Of Quidditch' & 'Fantastical Beasts & Where To Find Them' only she wrote them like they were books intended for wizards & the author is whoever wrote them in the book series, I had both books when I was a kid, but they were sold or thrown away or something. I hate the filters, you can be having a conversation & cant say simple words required to carry out regular conversation, like cu***ber & there are probably a few more, but I dont feel like looking for them lol.

Yes, I read something about her being the first author to become a billionaire from just her books on MSN when I logged on a few days ago. I probably wouldn't even write. Okay, I take that back....if I got bored after a few years of sitting around and spending my billions I would make another Harry Potter just to make MORE money if I was her. I go to the Comcast Community forums and they have a filter that I think the only word you can get away with is hell and every other word gets filtered, even WTF gets filtered. Is Quizilla the site with the quizzes? Or I could be thinking of something else. They need to revamp the banners on here if they want to have filters on her and make it more kid friendly. I notice most of the ads are for dating sites like black singles and 1mate.

I hate when mods start acting like ten pounds of **** in a five pound bag lol. It's annoying, like when JAC changed hands the first time & the mods kept deleting my signatures & changing the names of people that pissed them off, banning people, deleting posts, moving threads, they were basically given too much power & didn't know what to do with it. That's why I left for a few months. I didn't feel like messing with it.

I agree. Like the Comcast one they have this new "personal conversation policy" basically if you make a thread that only applies to another user they will lock it. They want all the threads to be so EVERYONE can respond, you know? I couldn't make a thread that say "hey rasalom good morning!" they would lock it and tell me to use PMs. Most of the regular members protested this but the mods didn't care. They thought the good morning/good night thread was a personal conversation but I argued the point that saying good morning and good night is something EVERYONE could participate in.

Nope, because you are dealing with stupid Comcast employees. The same company that jacks up their prices every year because they have no competition in my area. They just went up $3 on the price for having a DVR.

I don't like them but I DO like their message board. They have a wide variety of forums from music to sports to shows. Problem is you have to have an e-mail account with them in order to join the community.

That sucks. Thats why I don't have a TV lol, there's never really anything worth watching on anyway lol, it sucks that companies with a monopoly one one service or another want to price gouge, the electric company here does that in winter, they jack the prices up rediculously high, but we don't use the heat haha, so we still have a $30.00 a month bill lol.

Oh there is stuff to watch but it seems like you have to pay alot just to WATCH it, you know? The electric company doesn't do that here, it's mostly the cable company. Verizon does have T.V. packages and they are suppose to be much cheaper then Comcast but they aren't available in my area.

Well it's because you pay for Comcast is the only way you can use it. It's like AOL, you can only use that if you pay for it. I like the people there so I guess it isn't that bad.

Ahh, I know what you mean. You can't get dish or the other satellite thing, or do you live out in the boonies? I live a few minutes from downtown, so I suppose I could get whatever service I want to, they keep sending me these little 'deal' packages, Comcast, Dish, & I think Direct TV. I just throw it away, they offer $29.99 for the first three months or whatever, but won't give a price for after the three months are up, not even in the little fine print lol.

Ok, I suppose if you already have Comcast you might as well use every last one of the benefits lol, from the TV to the forums XD

I think I could get dish because one of my neighbors have it. I bet dish is alot more expensive then regular cable and I would be afraid in bad weather that the dish would stop working plus there is really no where on my roof that I could put it. I guess where I live I am "outside" the cable limits where they haven't been in the lines for Verizon. It's weird I can't get it but the street I am off of, if you go down aways there is a couple my mom knows who was able to get DSL.

Like I remember one time we had school, it was terrible out the absent list was like 10 pages long because all the normal thinking people stayed home. Lmao, that's awesome. I wish my school was like that. Just have it mentioned in the weather forecast and school would automatically shut down. I think if I lived in a city then I would have gotten school cancelled alot like Boston, Taunton, Brockton, etc. because they have to shut the schools down so they can shovel all the walkways for the kids.

I've never went to school in a big city lol, only small to medium sized towns, so we probably had less snow equipment than a larger city would have had, plus it's the south, so no one in their right mind would put snow equipment into the budget XD

No kidding, I think my school had one plow truck and they had salt but not a spreader, they just put it down manually. It was a joke, especially after I left. Roflol XD That's messed up, no one would have been able to drive or play sports unless they were rich =/ Did many people play sports/drive to school? Is the school still around, or was it shut down for lack of funding?

Lol =P

The school is still open, they actually built a new high school and it's going to open fall of 2008. When I go by the school I see the parking lot full so I guess people are paying the $100 and I would assume the same is for sports because I have seen the football team in the paper and they are usually pretty good. They cut back on other things to like they took away gym, music, art, things like that. It was so bad they cut the school hours due to lack of teachers but the town got up and put the school on probation and they were forced to revamp their system of doing things.

See every few years the schools get accreditation, a committee comes in and evaluates the school. They did that once when I was there and the school was approved but had to make minor changes but I guess last year it got pretty bad and they didn't approve them but instead put them on probation. They had a certain amount of time to make the changes then the committee comes back and sees if the school did what they were told.

If they did then they get approved if they don't they get denied. Which means if you graduate from a non accredited school your diploma is worth toilet paper, you can't get into any colleges and things like that.

Not sure probably because it's the only high school around, I went to a regional school so it was two towns going to one high school.

There was alot of things when the school went on probation and the hours of school got cut. Some parents transferred the kids to another small high school in another town but you have to pay much so much a year for them to go there because they aren't from that town.

Yeah and you know what the kicker is? The TOWN votes on this stuff. Like if they want to introduce anything new or changes whether it's money or the schools or whatever the town votes. So all the times the budget had to be cut is because the town wouldn't pass an override or something.

Eh, most towns are corrupt & messed up. Here the police department is super corrupt & everyone knows it. The last chief of police embezzled a few hundred thousand from the town & bought himself houses & cars/motorcycles. The new one is just as corrupt, no one has proved he's doing anything yet though.

What?! Hahaha, they pulled your friend over for doing 5 under the speed limit...on a bike?! Sometimes you see that sort of ridiculous stuff on the show Cops where they pull over some guy on a bike because he didn't have proper reflectors on his bike. Even worse: one episode they pull over a guy because he didn't have a LIGHT on his bike, like some sort of headlight. The cop was like "uh yeah you were pulled over because you don't have a proper light source on your bicycle..." Makes you want to say "are you f'ing kidding me?"

It's hard to carry a weapon on a bike, unless it's a pistol in a shoulder rig or waistband. They'd be screwed then though XD probably be eaten or something lol. Last time I was pulled over the one cop came to talk to me while the other stood beside the patrol car with the shotgun lol.

I know but it was a poor dog! lol, I was driving down route 138 and I was almost near a set of lights (I was heading to work) and I was just slowing to the red light (there was a car in front of me) and I just saw this white thing come running towards my car so I slammed on the breaks but it was to late. I hit it with my left front tire.

Of course what also got me was the commotion afterwards. The dog wouldn't come out from under my car so a woman stopped her car on the opposite side of the road to try to coax it out so now traffics backed up on both sides because I can't go anywhere and people were stopping to see what was going on.

A cop was sitting in his cruiser at a Ford dealership down the road and he came out. He made me pull into some random person's driveway (they were able to get the dog out from underneath before that). Cop went to talk to the owner, I called my mom hysterical, lmao. I was cleared because the dog had gotten off it's runner and the owner didn't know and the witness (the girl who stopped) said I didn't intentionally run it over because there was no way TO stop, you know? Kind of one of those unavoidable things.

Anyways the cop talked to me (and my mom) and I went off to work (I work for my dad) so I went to HIM hysterical, haha. My car was okay, no damage because the dog was small so it didn't hit anything except my tire....and that's my story, lol.

Aw, the poor cat! Well, yeah I was afraid I would get in trouble but I didn't. I am just sensitive, I guess. Must be a woman thing, lol.

I think it's okay if there is no way you can avoid it. But say there is a deer in the middle of the road and you could easily avoid it but you hit it anyways...I guess that isn't okay but with that example it's like why would you want to ram your car into a deer.

"The Gangs of Chicago" by Herbert Asbury
-pretty self explanatory, awesome non-fiction about the early 20th Century, up through Prohibition.

"From Hell" by Alan Moore
-in depth graphic novel about the Jack the Ripper slayings in London. Every page is like looking at a painting in a museum.

"The Alchemyst" by Michael Scott
-modern day fantasy (the first in a series) about twins mixed up in the secret cat and mouse games of ancient magicians. Really cool descriptions and visualizations.
