Good Bands

I've been wanting to find new bands to listen to. I tend to stray away from any pop or rap, I mostly listen to rock and rock-type (Alternative, punk, metal, etc.) bands. But if you think there is a good band that is not like the mentioned genres, I would not mind you suggesting them too. So, if you have any suggestions, would you please let me know? Thank you.

Within Temptation, Leaves' Eyes, Theatre of Tragedy, & Elegeion are a few of my favorite gothic metalish bands, dark with clear vocals, all are female & nice to listen to.
Amon Amarth, Ensiferum, & Wintersun if you like viking metal.
For something to chill out to try A Perfect Circle (Same lead singer as Tool), Deftones, or Team Sleep(Same lead singer as Deftones)

Well I am not sure about the bands but these days I am trying to set up an unconventional band. Not one of the great musicians though but then there are free printable music sheets to help me out. Like the idea?
