I watch foreign movies sometimes. I like Japanese martial arts movies, and I've seen Pan's Labyrinth (Spanish) and Night Watch and Day Watch (Russian). I also watch LOADS of American movies. They speak a very slightly different language to in England so it counts as foreign. (They pronounce aluminium like aloominerm. Whats that about? And they call jam jelly and trousers pants and something I've always wondered about is why, in American movies and TV shows, sometimes they say "period" at the end of sentences. It's so weird. I don't know what a period is in America, but in England it's something you wouldn't really mention in everyday conversation. Or randomly say at the end of sentences.)

Also Snookid, The Matrix was way better than Reloaded and Revolutions.

Oh and I saw Ghost Town yesterday which was f'ing funny! Ricky Gervais is brilliant.

i get the thing about americans!! they need everything to be their own way!! but of all the things the one i hate the most is how they call football soccer!! that just gets me mad!!! i mean they call their whatever it is football, fck off!! they aren't even allowed to touch the ball witht their feet and they call it football! i mean how ridiculous is that! and they have this whole notion about how if a team wins the nba or nfl or nbl championship then they are the world champions! thats fcked up! they are american champions not world champions!!! and they have to call their finals the fckin world series! whats that all about? i could go on and on........... :D

How the hell can they make Saw 6. Saw 5 is being advertised as the last one saying that it'll tie everything up. Surely they're running out of ideas by now. I haven't seen Saw 4 but Saw 3 was pretty dumb. Saw 1 the story was better but I just love the traps and stuff in Saw 2 and the end is hilarious!

I thought the same thing, that Saw 5 was it. However, there is a reality show called Scream Queens where they are casting for Saw 6. The woman who was in the first 3 Saws is hosting it, you know Jigsaws sidekick? I agree, they are running out of ideas.

I saw a really stupid movie to, Death Tunnel. It actually had a good premise but the acting and stupid situations killed it.

Notes On A Scandal, Shaun Of the Dead, When A Stranger Calls were all good movies. Snakes On A Plane was pretty lame and campy.

haza.haxa
28-10-2008, 02:37 PM
Shaun of the Dead was one of the greatest films made. And it was British! YAY! I haven't seen any of those other films though. I do, however, know a song about Snakes on a Plane. It's funny!

I saw Quanthingy of Solace. It was super good like and had LOADS of actiony beats. They didn't have any gadgets or a super special awesome car in it though, which are kind of the things that make James Bond so special. It was still a good film though.
Oh and he never said "Bond, James Bond" either. :'(

KarmaValanche
01-11-2008, 01:23 PM
i think its quantum of solace!!! been meaning to see that , haven't got a chance yet! this is the first bond movie thats like got something to do with the previous one yea? anyways from what i see in the trailers i reckon this will be the darkest bond that ever was. guess it'll be good fun!!

haza.haxa
01-11-2008, 03:27 PM
Yeah it was kind of following on from Casino Royale.

KarmaValanche
02-11-2008, 10:09 AM
yea!! the stunts in casino royal were pretty good. to be honest the first time i saw daniel craig as james bond i wasn't really sure if he'd make a good bond but in the end i think he did a good job. he brings a sort of dark side to the bind character!! in the past bond was always this classy posh and smooth guy who could do no wrong but this one is kind a human.. which i think is cool. anyways can't wait to see the new flick!!! still my favorite bond has always been sean connery. i freakin love the way he talks... =D

haza.haxa
02-11-2008, 11:25 AM
Oh yeah I didn't really think about it before but I suppose Daniel Craig does have a much darker side than the other Bond's, and Quantum of Solace really reflects that. Especially a scene right near the end when he's in the desert with this dude... I won't wreck it for you though!

ps: haza, you didn't say who your favorite bond of all time was??

haza.haxa
03-11-2008, 05:18 PM
I don't really have a fave Bond. Sometimes they're better than others, sometimes they're not. I do hate George Lazenby though...

I just watched Hills Have Eyes (2006). I didn't really think it was that good. I was all YAY because Clare from Lost was in it though!

I agree with you, Lost is a great show. Like everytime the season ends I think wtf? Because either something happened that left me totally confused or the cliffhanger that shocked the hell out of you. I can't wait for the final 2 seasons. It sucks here in the states we have to wait almost a year for the next season, it doesn't come back till Feb. 2009. The first few seasons it use to come back like a usual show, in the fall but then they changed it because they wanted to show the seasons uninterrupted.

My favorite is Josh Holloway (Sawyer), he's so hot! I hear he is going to cut his hair after the series is over, I hope not!

On to movies, I saw Elizabeth The Golden Age (pretty good) and The Omen 666 (surprisingly good) the one that was just OK for me was Doomsday. Sort of unrealistic.

a midget dies who gets hit by a bullet coming through Colin, ironically Colin still survies. And to add on, that was close range 4-5 shots. wtf?

Vol 2 was so unamazing compared to the first one. There was nothing in the second one to match the MASSIVE fight scene with the chinese/japanese (I forget which) mafia. There was a distinct lack of action in Vol 2. Especially the insanely short fight between The Bride and Bill.

Yup my feelings exactly!

So I saw a bunch:

The Exorcism Of Emily Rose - okay, could have been better since it was based on true events and all that. exorcism scenes could have been better and the court scenes cut down so they weren't so boring.

3:10 To Yuma - Feel indifferent, it had it's good and bad moments. Russell Crowe's character was the highlight

Marie Antonette - I liked it, could have been better without the modern style music and the questionable ending.

There Will Be Blood - Fantastic. For 2 hours and 40 minutes I wasn't bored one minute. The ending was the most surprising and shocking I have ever seen.

Click - Family friendly but I thought it was really good.

Well Charlize Theron never did anything for anyone but you still like her!

sYn
12-12-2008, 01:58 PM
yeah Signal was crappiest movie ever. The only good thing about it was having a happy ending, or did it? I forgot lol

yeah exactly, NOTHING. don't worry about bad or good.

I don't know, I didn't get to the end, haha.

I saw....Spider Man 3 which was great but there are a couple of things I didn't like about it. Also Keeping the Faith which sucked and I love Edward Norton. :(

haza.haxa
13-12-2008, 12:42 PM
Spiderman's a crap superhero. In the films he only ever killed Venom. All his other enemies either turned good, killed themselves, or both.

I saw The Earth Stood Still (remake). It was awesome! Keanu Reeves is great, but the best person in it is the kid. He's so funny!

sYn
13-12-2008, 05:00 PM
Well, I guess Venom didn't really die because they are making a spin off movie using that character.

Good to know, I'm seeing that in another week.

I saw Monster which was pretty good and Stop Loss which was okay, but Ryan Phillipe is still hot. :D

haza.haxa
22-12-2008, 08:33 PM
So I went and saw Twilight. I twas good, but strange... Not exactly what I thought it would be. Didn't make me want to read the book either, but it was a good film.

sYn
23-12-2008, 02:06 PM
Not really interested in that movie. I think it's been way to overly hyped. I saw The Day the Earth Stood Still last night. It was okay there were alot of holes in the storyline and the ending was sort of lame.

haza.haxa
23-12-2008, 04:24 PM
There weren't holes. I thought it was fine. Nothing was unexplained. Much.

sYn
24-12-2008, 03:48 PM
Compared to the original it was better but what did you think of the ending?

haza.haxa
24-12-2008, 07:23 PM
I missed the very end because I had to leave but I saw the beat where Keanu Reeves got in the big orb and they all buggered off home, which I thought was kinda sucky. My friend also agreed with me that it was weird how the bug swarm ate through a whole stadium in about 5 seconds, yet they couldn't eat through the bridge they were hiding under...

haza.haxa
24-12-2008, 07:24 PM
Oh and I saw the original Freaky Friday, which was better than the remake by a long shot. The remake sucked.

I was thinking the same thing.

I saw The Constant Gardner which was pretty boring and had a pointless ending.

31-12-2008, 08:28 PM
I've watched Inkheart, Yes Man, Freddie Got Fingered, and every Monty Python movie since I last came on, which were all hilariuous! Except Inkheart, which was kind of awful.

sYn
01-01-2009, 04:31 PM
Haven't seen any of those except Freddie Got Fingered. I like some gross out humor but I couldn't get into that movie.

I saw Keane, with Damian Lewis and Abigail Breslin it was pretty good but I didn't like the abrupt ending.

haza.haxa
03-01-2009, 01:21 PM
Freddie Got Fingered is one of my favourite movies, although most people don't like it. Apparently it's like marmite...

I watched The Spirit, which was a brilliant film. I suggest you go see it, if it's still out over there. It's made by the guy who made Sin City, and you can really tell!

sYn
03-01-2009, 05:09 PM
I want to see that, I noticed it was like Sin City.

I saw Eternal Sunshine Of the Spotless Mind, which I liked surprisingly.

haza.haxa
03-01-2009, 11:23 PM
I love that film! I think Jim Carey is amazing in it. He should do more films like that rather than his usual 'crazy' stuff like Ace Ventura.

sYn
05-01-2009, 02:34 PM
I think he is going that route. With Yes Man coming out and other movies like Man On the Moon and the Truman Show, I like him in those kinds of movies too.

I saw Jumper last night which I liked to.

haza.haxa
05-01-2009, 03:52 PM
Yes Man is already out! And I loved the Truman Show as well.
I didn't like Jumper that much, but it's probably because one of my friends saw it first and got my expectations up...

In ECDL today we discussing the scariest movies we've ever seen. Mine was The Ring. Other people said It, Dead Silence (which I've never heard of), The Omen and The Exorcist. I was wondering what you might think the scariest movie you've seen is?

sYn
06-01-2009, 01:26 PM
I can see The Ring because the movie was freaky but Dead Silence?! This is what the movie is about:

In the wake of his young bride's mysterious death, grieving newlywed Jamie Ashen (Ryan Kwanten) is forced to return to his haunted hometown, where he butts heads with the ghost of a creepy ventriloquist who was infamously murdered years ago. Amber Valletta and Donnie Wahlberg co-star in this chilling horror offering from James Wan and Leigh Whannell, the same team that created the Saw trilogy.

I didn't find that movie scary at all, haha.

I have seen a ton of horror movies and none have made me not be able to sleep at night but one that has stayed with me (like I thought about alot after seeing it) was probably both Saw 1 & 2.

haza.haxa
08-01-2009, 11:39 PM
How was Saw 2 scary? I didn't think it was trying to be scary... Saw 1 was really tense though in the scene with the little girl and the "monster" in her closet. The night after watching it I checked my wardrobe!

I also found this poll in the Times, British newspaper, about the 50 scariest movies of all time. I can't remember most of it but No.1 was The Exorcist and No.2 was The Ring! They also had The Shining, Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street (which I thought was hilarious!), and The Birds.

sYn
09-01-2009, 02:49 PM
I didn't mean it was scary per se but it "stayed" with me, as in it sort of creeped me out but it didn't make be terrified. I thought all the Saw movies were good up to the 4th.

How could I forget about the Shining? The ending freaked me out as a kid. Nightmare On Elm Street isn't scary at all, The Birds is alittle creepy.

haza.haxa
11-01-2009, 09:57 PM
Personally I really didn't like The Shining. I think I just found it too slow, except the REDRUM scene freaked me out a bit, and the bit with the two girls in the corridor.
The way I've worked it out, I've only ever found films scary if they've had children. I think I have some sort of supressed fear of children.

haza.haxa
11-01-2009, 10:04 PM
Also, I watched Role Models, with Paul Rudd, one of my favourite actors, and Sex Drive, with Seth Green in it, another favourite! Both were really funny!

The ending scared me with Jack Nicholson sitting frozen in the snow!

I want to see Role Models, I hear that movie is really funny. I saw a couple of movies, In the Valley Of Elah was good but it had it's slow points. I saw Hitman as well which was pretty cool.

haza.haxa
12-01-2009, 05:41 PM
I didn't think Hitman would be that good because it's a film based on a videogame, and they're rarely any good, but quite a few people have said it's good now. I might look it up! Never heard of The Valley Of Elah though...

sYn
13-01-2009, 02:01 PM
Yeah I didn't think it was going to be good but it surprised me. The Valley Of Elah has Charlize Theron, Tommy Lee Jones and Susan Sarandon in it, it didn't make a great showing at the box office.

I saw a stupid movie yesterday, Ladder 49 with Jacquin Phoenix and John Travolta. Terrible acting, unrealistic situations and a pointless ending that, if you saw this in the theater, I would suggest demanding your money back.

sYn
21-01-2009, 02:11 PM

I've seen the remake, but not the original. The remake was decent enough, and had Clare from Lost in it!

I went and saw Seven Pounds with Will Smith. It was certainly... interesting. It was pretty confusing throughout most of the film, until the end, but I managed to guess the ending anyway. It was quite good anyways.

Right, I saw the one with Claire and I thought it was creepy as hell but pretty good. The sequel wasn't quite as good. I am going to see Seven Pounds when it comes out on DVD which is in March. I hear it's sort of weird but I'll see it just for Will Smith!

haza.haxa
26-01-2009, 05:08 PM
Damn it's so annoying how all the films are out in America first. It'll probably more like May when it comes to DVD.

Have you seen the new Underworld film? I really want to see it but it's an 18.

sYn
27-01-2009, 02:17 PM
It depends on how good the movies does. I know Seven Pounds didn't do that good. No, I haven't seen the new Underworld but I probably will on DVD. I still have to see the sequel, I have only seen just the first one.

I like the Transporter movies but I couldn't get into the movie Crank, actually I thought it was pretty bad. I can't believe they are coming out with a second one and possible third too.

haza.haxa
27-01-2009, 04:26 PM
Crank is one of my friends favourite movies. He keeps insisting I watch it!

I saw Mr Deeds today. I love Adam Sandler films! I was really funny. Unfortunately I've got a really sore throat so every time I laughed I ended up coughing lots...

sYn
29-01-2009, 03:42 PM
I mean I know Crank was suppose to be cheesey but it was just way to over the top for me. I like Jason Statham more serious!

I haven't seen Mr. Deeds but I did tape Spanglish with Adam Sandler and Tia Leoni.

haza.haxa
29-01-2009, 09:39 PM
mmmyah I didn't think Spanglish looked very good. Too emotional. I just prefer straight up pointless comedy/violence/horror

Also tomorrow it will be 2 whole weeks since I last went to the cinema! D: That's the longest time I haven't been in about a year, excl. holidays.

sYn
30-01-2009, 02:26 PM
I like Adam Sandler so I'll give it a try, I admit the plot sounds alittle sappy.

Last time I went to the movies was to see The Day the Earth Stood Still. Movies coming out now don't sound that great except The International which comes out in the states February 13th, I plan on seeing that.

haza.haxa
31-01-2009, 02:08 PM
I went to the cinema yesterday(yay!) and saw Slumdog Millionaire, which was actually a really good film, although I went in not expecting to like it much. It really is brilliant. And you said there's nothing on. You should go see it. It's directed by Danny Boyle who made Trainspotting.

I've heard of The International but I don't what it's about. I do know another film that's coming out on the 13th. Friday the 13th! The remake. I bet it won't be as good as the original, like most remakes, but I haven't seen the original so I wouldn't know lol.

sYn
31-01-2009, 05:19 PM
I don't even know if Slumdog Millionaire is playing in the states, it must or if not in limited release. I'll probably see that sometime, I bet it will win for best picture at the Oscars. The International is pretty much about a corrupted bank that kills people! Haha, that's what I gathered from the trailers and Clive Owen has to stop this bank.

I heard about the Friday the 13th remake. I have seen the original and it's a pretty good series if you are into horror. I remember when they made the Halloween remake and that was actually pretty good.

haza.haxa
01-02-2009, 05:32 PM
Haha when you said about a bank that kilks people I just imagined this actual bank coming to life and growing arms and legs and walking around shooting people! I read a synopsis thing on IMDB which seemed pretty good. It'ds got Naomi Watts in it to. I always get confused between Naomi Watts and Nicole Kidman though for some reason. I'm not really sure why.

I watched the Planet of the Apes remake today. I'm not entirely sure I undrstood the end. I mean, it turns out their on Earth right, but is he meant to have gone foward in time again? I didn't really know what was going on. But it had Max Payne in it, and he kissed a monkey lol.

sYn
02-02-2009, 01:53 PM
lol, no I guess you can order hits on people and stuff it looks pretty cool. I think I can see why you would get them confused since they are both australian, I think they sound alike. I like Naomi Watts better then Nicole Kidman. I just saw a movie of Naomi's last night, We Don't Live Here Anymore. It's a indie film, sort of slow pace but I liked it.

I saw the Planet Of the Apes remake along time ago. I don't really remember much about it but I thought it was just okay, not one of my favorite Mark Wahlburg movies.

sYn
14-02-2009, 05:25 PM
I saw Saw 5 last night. It's alot better then the last one.

haza.haxa
17-02-2009, 10:33 PM
Well the fourth one was crap so it's not that hard lol!
I saw Pink Panther 2 which was truly terrible. I also saw Bolt which was pretty damn funny. Especially the pigeons! Cartoons are awesome. I wanna see that Monsters Vs Aliens. That looks really funny!
Did you see Friday 13th? My media teacher saw it & she said it was really scary!

sYn
18-02-2009, 02:26 PM
Haha, anything is better then the fourth one!

Not surprised, I haven't seen the Pink Panther movies but they never looked good to me. I haven't seen the Friday the 13th movie, I plan on catching it on DVD.

I saw a bunch of movies this weekend but the more noteable one was the new Die Hard movie, I thought it was great.

sYn
20-02-2009, 02:29 PM
Saw The International last night and it was terrible. Probably the most boring movie I have ever seen at a movie theater.

haza.haxa
21-02-2009, 01:12 PM
Haha, aw shame, I thought it looked pretty good! I'll know it's one to avoid then.
I saw Push yesterday which I thought was really good. It got a little confusing towards the end but I really liked it, even it if did have the lamest gun fight ever in it! It was kinda funny though. You should watch it I think. It's about these people with super powers who are trying to escape this Government organisation who want to turn the into military weapons and run tests on them and such. It's really good.

sYn
21-02-2009, 05:05 PM
There is ONE good scene in The International but yeah the trailers make you think there is alot of action but there isn't. Felt like I was in the theater for 4 hours instead of 2!

Push is playing in theaters here but I'll catch it on DVD, I think Dakota Fanning is in it, right? It's a different role for her.

haza.haxa
22-02-2009, 12:24 PM
A very slow film then I guess.

Yeah Dakota Fanning is in it. I thought she would be really annoying because I normally find her annoying for some reason but I thought she was really good in this film!

sYn
23-02-2009, 01:32 PM
Yeah I will have to put Push on my Netflix queue. I saw Taking Chance, a HBO film with Kevin Bacon it was good but I didn't like Kevin Bacon's character.

haza.haxa
24-02-2009, 05:21 PM
er... I don't know what HBO is, but I don't really like any films I've seen with Kevin Bacon in it, other than Apollo 13. I can't really remember that one though as it's been so long since I saw it.

sYn
25-02-2009, 02:12 PM
HBO is a cable network. I liked him in Apollo 13 too. I saw him in Death Sentence and that movie was just okay/bordering on not being good.

I saw Slither last night, a horror movie where parasites from another planet invade a town. It was actually pretty good. Alittle campy but that was the point of it to be like a comedy/horror movie.

haza.haxa
28-02-2009, 02:38 PM
I've never seen slither but I want to.
I saw Gran Turino which I loved. It was suprisingly funny, and the end was really sad, but I thought it was brilliant. I also watched The Unborn which, although it was kinda scary, it was really stupid.

sYn
28-02-2009, 05:05 PM
Gran Torino surprised me on how good of a movie it is. Clint Eastwood should have been nominated for an Oscar! I haven't seen the Unborn but I will probably eventually see it.

haza.haxa
03-03-2009, 06:07 PM
Yeah I thought Clint Eastwood was really good as well!
I watched the Bourne Identity & Supremacy last week. I thought Matt Damon was actually really good, I don't really remember seeing him in anything before, but after watching Team America I always thought he was some total idiot or something! I'm going to watch the third Bourne film this weekend.

sYn
04-03-2009, 01:58 PM
The Bourne movies are great, I hear they are coming out with a 4th one but I'm not sure. Matt Damon has some good movies, like Good Will Hunting, The Departed, the Ocean movies.

I don't actually remember Matt Damon being in the Oceans movies. I was also a bit shocked that you said they were good. Only the first one was any good in my opinion.
Lol, I thought the Harry Potter movies were ok, but the books were better. The last movie that came out was total **** though.

sYn
07-03-2009, 04:57 PM
Well the last one wasn't the best but I thought the others were good. I don't think they will make anymore of them since Bernie Mac died. I have never read the Harry Potter books.

I must have hit a rough patch with movies since I saw three in a row that sucked. Into the Blue, Species II and Ultraviolet.

haza.haxa
22-03-2009, 06:52 PM
Lesbian Vampire Killers is such a funny movie! You should go see it if you haven't already. It's British, yay!
Also saw Paul Blart: Mall Cop. It wasn't the best, but it had it's moments. Kevin James is a pretty funny guy though!

sYn
23-03-2009, 02:45 PM
I don't think that is playing in the states. The Kevin James movie is a huge hit here, I want to see it but probably on DVD.

I have seen a ton of movies but a highlight is the awfulness of Catwoman. What the heck was Halle Berry thinking?!

haza.haxa
29-03-2009, 12:40 PM
Ah Catwoman is for shame! Halle Berry has been in a fair few crappy movies in her time.
I watched a bunch of Kevin Smith films this weekend. He's so funny! Clerks, Clerks 2, Mallrats, Dogma and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. I loved all of them!
I also saw Monsters vs Aiens at the cinema, which was really funny. I'm also pretty sure, even though it's meant to be a kids film, the adults in the cinema laughed much more than the kids did! It did seem to have a lot of adult jokes in it.

sYn
30-03-2009, 02:09 PM
I love the movie Dogma!

I want to see Monsters Vs. Aliens, it's good to hear there is adult humor in it.

I saw a bunch of movies, some old Robert DeNiro movies, I saw the 4th Harry Potter movie which was good.

haza.haxa
04-04-2009, 11:54 PM
I thought Dogma was brilliant too! I love Jay and Silent Bob?

I saw Monsters Vs Aliens again! I think Seth Rogen is a brilliant voice actor!
I also saw Haunting in Conneticut, which was incredibly dull. Definitely one to miss.

I also watched Zack and Miri Make A ***** which was pretty funny, but not as good as I thought it would be.

sYn
06-04-2009, 02:29 PM
I hear Monsters VS. Alien is great, have you seen it in 3D? I will probably see The Haunting In Connecticut whether it's dull or not.

I saw Knowing, it's like The Mist. It started off good but the ending is really lame.

haza.haxa
07-04-2009, 09:59 AM
Yeah they're only showing it in 3D here. It's cool.

My friend saw Knowing and said the end was really crap. I then guessed that everybody dies, was right, and now I can't be bothered to go see it! I thought the ending to The Mist was really funny though!

I saw Hostel 1 & 2. They weren't as gory as I thought they would be to be honest, but the second one was a lot better, if slightly confusing.

sYn
07-04-2009, 02:20 PM
I laughed at the end of The Mist because of how bad it was. It should have followed the way it ended in the story by Stephen King. Yup, Knowing everyone dies at the end so the movie really doesn't have a point to it.

I couldn't get through the first Hostel. I tried it because they had a scary movie countdown and made that #1 but it was just lame.

haza.haxa
08-04-2009, 10:08 AM
How the hell did Hostel reach number one? That must be a rubbish list!

I watched Harold & Kumar 2 yesterday and I thought it was hilarious! Much better than the first!
I also watched the Onion Movie, which was a bit odd, but pretty funny, although it got really stupid towards the end.

sYn
09-04-2009, 02:51 PM
I have no idea! It didn't deserve number one. I watched Semi-Pro and I thought it was pretty funny.

haza.haxa
13-04-2009, 07:18 PM
Um... It was... disturbing. Yes.

I watched Fight Club. Amazing film! Brilliant twist. Also watched 12 monkeys. Brilliant film! You should watch both of them if you haven't already. I think you'll like them. Brad Pitt is such an awesome actor. I've never thought that anyone is an exceptionally good actor before, but I've got to say Brad Pitt definitely is an awesome actor.

sYn
14-04-2009, 02:11 PM
I have seen both and they are both great.

Have you seen the movie Seven? See it if you haven't it's REALLY good.

I watched Leaving Las Vegas last night. Sort of a bizarre movie in some parts but overrall it was pretty good, sort of haunting with Nicolas Cage portraying an alcoholic screenwriter.

haza.haxa
15-04-2009, 12:11 AM
No but I've heard good things. I'll try and watch it sometime this week.
I watched Fast & Furious today. I have to say it was better than I expected. I think for the Fast & Furious films, from best to worst it goes 1, 4, 2, 3.
I also watched Funny Games (US), which, although slow, I thought was pretty good. Not brilliant though.

sYn
15-04-2009, 02:35 PM
I haven't seen the new one yet. It was huge in the US, box office wise. I agree that the third one was awful. There was no point to it.

Haven't seen Funny Games yet either but I know what happens in the movie. I watched Bait last night but it was pretty lame, not one of Jamie Foxx's best films.

haza.haxa
16-04-2009, 11:04 AM

sYn
16-04-2009, 03:07 PM
Definently try finishing it, there is a twist at the end.

I love Paul Rudd now. I never had an opinion of him since for along time the only movie I saw him in was Clueless but now he seems to be in everything.

Saw Man Of the Year yesterday, it was okay. I think it could have been funnier since I like Robin Williams.

haza.haxa
16-04-2009, 04:30 PM

I'll try and watch Seven but it loads SO slow! I'll try and rent it instead probably.

sYn

Renting is probably a better idea.

I watched Baby Mama last night. Eh, not as funny as I hoped. I like Tina Fey in it but I found Amy Poehler to be rather annoying. Plus the ending made it seem that there was no real point to the entire movie.

haza.haxa
18-04-2009, 03:39 PM

I also In The Loop which I thought was really funny, although slightly slow. It was a brilliant script though!

I hope so!
The Spirit is a brilliant movie! It's kinda like Sin City but with less dismemberment and hookers and more funny costumes. You'll definitely like it if you liked Sin City.

My favorite isn't even on the poll!

FANTASY

Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Willow, etc. etc.

I can't wait for the new Harry movie!

The Uninvited has a very strange storyline for a horror film. I thought the twist at the end was a bit lame though. It's been done before.
I also saw Outlander which was a pretty good film, but really predictable.

I haven't seen The Uninvited but I think it comes out on DVD in the states on Tuesday. I saw alot of old romantic comedies like Two Weeks Notice, Sleepless In Seattle, You've Got Mail, etc. They were all pretty good.

It's already coming out on DVD?! It's only just come out in the cinema here! It's a pretty good film anyways.
I went and saw Observe and Report, it was such a funny film! A bit slow starting, but definitely it definitely picks up in the second half. Seth Rogen is so funny too! I've loved everything I've seen him in!

sYn
28-04-2009, 02:01 PM
Yeah I think I saw it in a flier. I know Observe and Report was in theaters but I don't know if it still is. I saw Sum Of All Fears last night, not really that good and it's a shame because I like Ben Affleck and Liev Shrieber.

haza.haxa
28-04-2009, 05:46 PM
Liev Shrieber? Never heard of em, but yeah Ben Affleck is good, except in Pearl Harbour, cos that film sucked...

Has the film Fanboys come out in America yet? I'm sure it had but my friend insisted that it hadn't. I don't think it's coming out in the cinema in UK, but it looks really funny!

Liev is with Naomi Watts, do you know who she is? They have two kids together.

I haven't heard of the movie Fanboys but I looked it up on Netflix and it's being released on DVD on 5/19. It may have been an independent movie so that's why I never saw it playing in the theaters. The reviews are good on it, though.

haza.haxa
30-04-2009, 05:37 PM
Oh yeah I know who Naomi Watts is!

Yeah I heard that Fanboys was only released in a few cinemas. It has loads of famous people from Star Wars in it though, so I would have thought more people would have heard of it, and it's got Seth Rogen in it, who is awesome!

sYn
01-05-2009, 02:17 PM
Yes, reading the reviews on Netflix some people had seen it at premiere releases at some small theaters. I am very surprised it wasn't widely released since Seth Rogen is pretty well known now.

I don't think Seth Rogen has a very big part in the film though.

I watched Xmen Origins today which was really good! Better than the other Xmen films! It really suprised me because my expectations weren't very high.

I love the Transporter movies! I'd love for there to be a fourth one too!
I watched the "unrated" version of Sex Drive yesterday. It was ****. The original version is one of the funniest films I've ever seen though!

Never heard of the movie Sex Drive.

Sex Drive is one of the best movies I've seen. It's hilarious! It's got Seth Green in it for a bit which is awesome, because Seth Green is awesome! You should definitely put it on your Netflix thingy.

Okay.

I saw Rogue yesterday. I went into it thinking I wouldn't care for it since I don't really like horror movies where animals are the horror and this movie had to do with a killer alligator but it turned out to be pretty good.

I watched the Star Trek movie yesterday. It was awesome! Never watched the TV show so I don't know how it compares, but I liked it. And it had 2 "Heroes" in it! We kept saying thtough the movie how Sylar could've pwnd everyone there haha!

I just watched this film called Memento, and it was the most confusing film I've ever seen! I don't if you've heard of it, but it's about this dude with short-term memory loss trying to avenge his wife's death. It is an amazing film, with uber-unexpected ending. One of the best films I have ever seen.

I have seen it, I thought it was okay. I think what put him off from it was how confusing it was. If you like the main guy who was in it, check him out in L.A. Confidential.

haza.haxa
12-05-2009, 05:16 PM
lol I kind of liked how insanely confusing it was, as it all made sense in the end. Like the revelation of what just happened during the last two hours and that, "Oooooohhhh. NOW I get it!" moment are pretty awesome.
I watched Wolf Creek the other day under recommendation from Snookid. It wasn't that good... I just another one of these films where some dude kills people for no apparent reason.

lol I saw it already, and I did notice it said that it said Liev Schrieber was in it! I was gonna say something but I guess I forgot. He was Sabretooth right? I didn't really like him, as an actor...

Have you guys seen "Silent Hill"? If you have, care to explain what happens at the end?
How do they get stuck in the alternate world? I know the story is deep, ending is tragic and it makes you go like "What The ****?"
Or is there a sequel coming to it? I really don't wanna see them stuck in the different world.

Oh and BTW if you haven't watched it and you have time for a good horror other than some buncha horny teens getting out to woods and chased by some freaky ghost, it is a must watch for you. It has good story and gonna leave you wondering. LoL

I saw Quarantine, it was a pretty good movie. I thought it was going to be a zombie movie but it's not quite but I won't say since some people probably haven't seen it. I also loved how it was shot with just one camera moving around like Cloverfield or The Blair Witch Project.

It's a toss up between Horror and Comedy.
It all depends on the mood I'm in.
But, if I had to choose just one, I'd be pick Comedy.
Cause the movies they consider horror these days aren't really scary at all.
Rather disappointing.
